Do any of you have a Cookie Press and if so what is your favorite brand? I am on the lookout for one as I plan to make Spritz Cookies this year for some gifts for friends and family.

I found this one at Target for only $19.99 and it comes with SO many things!

Let me know what you have or have used before! Thanks so much smile

One time when I was staying at my sister-in-laws house she brought out Cheese Straws that he had made with her granddaughter.
She said the had gone to a shop that had tea and cheese straws to have a tea party.
So she ask the lady what kind of cookie press did she use?
The lady said the best on she ever used was Wilton cookie press for $10.00
So she went out and bough one and she had two of them and gave me one.
When I got home I could not I at Walmart where she got hers
This is the scan number 7089644011
It comes with 12 disks, has a handle you click to have the cookie to come down and a screw at the top to get your dough to come down the first time.
I have made the cheese straws with this press and will make the spritz cookies at Christmas time with this press for the first time

You may go online to see if you can find this press.

My cookie press is over 40 years old; don't know the brand name, but it is metal; manually worked with the screw type knob on the top; less amount of pressure, small amount comes out; more pressure and you get a blob. Came with at least 12 discs and it works great. I wouldn't trade it for a new plastic one for anything.

Does anyone have a good recipe for spritz cookies? The recipes I always try make the cookies taste bland. Thanks so much

Too late for this Christmas, but here is my favorite cookie recipe for the cookie press. It has a wonderful, delicate flavor.

Snow Flake Cookies

1 cup shortening (I generally use butter)
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 cup sugar
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon finely grated orange rind
2 1/2 cups sifted flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream shortening and cream cheese. Continue beating while gradually adding sugar. Beat in egg yolk, vanilla and orange rind. Sift flour with salt and cinnamon. Add to creamed mixture. Fill cookie press. Press onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.

Hope you enjoy them!
