I bought this DVD several months ago minus Japanese subtitles/captions like the VHS I bought several years ago. Sarah & I just watched it for the first time on an HD DVD player which pretty much acts as an upconverting DVD player, not HD quality but good, and this was GREAT. We watched from my big bed on a big screen TV and we both just LOVED this movie, even Sarah who is just turned 14 thought it was GREAT (she's watched it a couple time before on the old VHS). I sure wish Disney would release and re-master this wonderful movie. This version is great, I think I paid around 20.00 on-line, but a remastered release via perhaps the Walt Disney Treasures in the tins would be sweet. Maybe we'll break out an old Lassie DVD next since the boys are off at hockey again tonight.

Could you either post or email me with where you found this dvd? I remember really enjoying this movie as a kid, and I doubt Disney is ever going to release it. Thanks.

Thanks for the info.

I have just one question. How is Google checkout? I've never used it before.

I think they were still doing PayPal when I bought mine but I've used Google checkout for something else and was able to get 10.00 off my purchase so you might search for a Google coupon for "new" customers. It is as easy as PayPal, actually easier, to set up account as you don't have to do the 2 small deposits etc. etc. and link to your bank account.

Barbara, Sarah & I really enjoyed watching it~! It was great. We had watched it a long time ago on a VHS version I bought but that was back on a 27" tv and to see it on my wonderful Sony 50" was GREAT and without those distracting Japanese subtitles/captions. The animation combined with the live actors was very well done for 1946. There were so many little things I had missed on the smaller screen that were great to catch on the bigger screen. Also while watching many of the scenes and songs I could also fondly recall riding one of my most favorite rides at Disney, Splash Mountain, and how we rode it over and over on our trips even though that first trip when Sarah was 6 she started crying in line and we had to exit without riding that year. Time flies and now she just turned 14 last month. ;\)

I am going to order it too! I have never seen it and I have been looking for a copy for years. All the ones I have seen are well over $100 so this is a bargain. I can't believe that Disney would have an E ticket ride at the parks based on this movie that so few people have ever seen.

Got an email telling me the DVD has shipped. I am so excited. We also have a 50 inch plasma and I can hardly wait to watch it. My DH just sighed and said, "some people just never grown up!" Heck no, not for many more years! Just get over it! ;\)

Since it was just Sarah & I, we watched it in regular 4:3 and didn't want to stretch it but it was still E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T~!!! One of these days I'll experiment and see IF we can find a 16:9 setting on it but I don't think so. You will still enjoy it very much~!!!!

They ship fast~!

Zipede Doo Dah---Zipedia---What a wonderful video. I absolutely Loved It! I had never seen it and I will watch it again tomorrow.

Again, Deana, Thank you so much for posting about this. Without you, this older lady would have never got to see it and just think what I would have missed....That grow-up guy loved it. Thought the video was a great buy...Go figure. ;\)

Well, add me to the list of those ordering! I have always wanted to see this movie! I seem to remember my mother would recite little snipets of something about Brer Rabbit. I am not sure where she knew it from.

You can't go to WDW or Dland without riding Splash Mountain! It is the best!

I've already received the copy I ordered way out here on the west coast. I haven't watched it yet, but fast shipping.

edit to add: Wow, This is my 500th post! I don't post all that often, but I guess they add up over the years.

Did anybody find a code to use for new customers? I found them for various other stores, but not just one specifically for Google checkout? - Karen
