Hi, y'all, a thread we had going awhile back brought up the loss of the Greenbooks for Hallmark ornaments. I wrote to the company to ask if they were going to be publishing these books anymore and this is their response:

Hi,

The people publishing the Greenbook guides retired at the end of 2000. The two Dept 56 books are being taken over by us, the illage Chronicle. All other guides have been discontinued. We do not have any information on other collectibles besides Dept 56. You might try Collectors Information Bureau
at www.collectorsinfo.com to see if they can give you information on other collectibles. They are the only other company we know of that have any information on collectibles. {Note: I did go to this web site but they don't have anything related to ornaments.}

If I can be of any further assistance, please email me or call at 401-467-9343.

What about Checkerbee? I think that's the name. I do think it's differnent from the Geenbook and I know they put out one last year. Although, I didn't purchase one before they sold out!

Just a quick note: Checkerbee has "disapeared" (?)

I have found a new company, Bangzoom press, that will be doing guides for Keepsakes, as well as Boyds (plush and resin), Ty, CT, PM, Charming Tails, Harmony Kingdom, Dept. 56, Harbour Lights, Just the Right Shoe. The Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Guide will be available in August.

I am happy to hear that. I was planning on buying a Checkerbee Book this year and was sad to hear they discontinued the product.

I will be watching for the new book.

Some time ago there was someone who posts here on Yulelog that was researching prices to make a guide book. I can't remember now who she was--does anyone else remember who was doing that?

Thanks for the info Blaine. Yes, please keep us informed. I, for one, will be interested in purchasing a copy.
