Our show chair wasn't able to attend our December meeting, so I didn't get an answer to whether we have dates lined up 2010...stay tuned for more info!
Alan, there is no event the evening prior. This is a secondary market show run by a Hallmark local club, not hosted by Hallmark. Many of the sellers are club members, although there are quite a few others who are not club members that have bought table space. Some of the club member sellers are collectors that may possibly be interested in trading/swapping. I think the more business-type dealers would mainly be interested in selling, but you never know until you ask.
The mix of different types of sellers makes for a fun show to attend. You can pick up real bargains from folks that are interested in clearing out some space, you can see some really rare and special pieces from the long-term secondary dealers. Some sellers carry other items like Beanie Babies, Disneyana, Barbie, Snoopy etc.

I had a great time at the HOHO show. I picked several miniature ornaments, that were missing from the my collection. Even, the elusive elf tappers were available! I didn't stay very long; Sunday was a beautiful sunny day with the temperature in the 80s.
