Two cats - Cally and Chubby.
Cally is a 15yr old Calico who is diabetic and probably in her last year - lots of complications this year. \:\(
Chubby is a 10 yr old "garfield" orange tabby. We adopted him about 2 years ago and he came with the name!

Sandy

edited March 29th. Today was Cally's last day. Her little liver just gave up and she started getting jaundiced. Then she stopped eating, and her weight was down to 2kg. (less than 5 lb) The few options to try to perk her up would have only been "temporary" anyways so we said goodbye. \:\(

We live in the country and have both. All are outside animals.

We had to put our 18 year old Brittany Spaniel to sleep a year ago but our grandson is living here right now and has a Rott and a Lab Rott mix. They are certainly outside dogs.

Our beloved Cali is an 11-year old black Labrador. She is still pretty peppy for her age, especially when it is time for her walk or when she spots a squirrel in our backyard! She is pretty much an inside dog, but goes outside throughout the day whenever she wants.

We named our cat Grady. We got him from a shelter in town called Second Hand Purrs. He is pictured on my avatar. Quite a handsome boy if I do say so myself. \:D

We have two Chow Chows at our house and they're mostly inside dogs.

Freedom is a cream colored male, rescue dog and Liberty is a black female.

Both of them are such sweethearts; angels with fur.
I can't imagine our home without the pitter-patter of little Chow Chow feet.

Mine are Smokey and Raleigh (he was already named).

We have a grey cockatiel named Yoshi. We got him as a baby in 1994 so he is 15 years old! Back in the day we also had a yellow 'tiel named Kirby. The boys named them after their favorite Nintendo characters. Now both boys have moved out and DD is away at collge so it is just me, hubby and the bird.

We have a dog, a beagle. But we also feed birds and many squirrels in our yard. At times our yard feels like a zoo as raccoons, possums, and (unfortunately) even skunks also come by to eat.

I've got 1 mixed breed mutt named Max. Sadly, he's dying of congestive heart failure and will likely not be around after April. Poor baby. \:\(

My grandmother just got a beagle puppy last weekend, she's also got a Lhasa mix.

Linda, my cockatiel, Baby, died this past summer. Poor thing. I had him since he was a baby in January of 1989, so he was almost 20 years old~! I took him to the vet to get his beak trimmed, when they get that old it starts growing really long and even the lava rock thing & cuttle bone don't help . . . got it trimmed, arrived home and we took him in his cage and this was his second trimming . . . he was hissing and very upset . . .15 minutes later he was laying on the bottom of his cage and he had died. I was so SHOCKED . . . I had Baby longer than Steve and both the kids and it felt really weird for a few weeks. It took me a month or so to finally take his cage/house out of the kitchen/breakfast area and move it to the garage. I guess the stress was too much for his poor little heart.

When paul and I get our own house at the end of the year or early 2010, we are planning on the following:
2 cats- 1 orange like Garfield and 1 tabby
1 Dog- either Portuguese waterdog or Poodle
1 turtle

However, i think the turtle will be arriving sooner than later since every time we pass a pet shop, paul wants the turtle!

Deana, your poll didn't let me click on "cats" AND "other" so I clicked other and will add that I also own (or do they own me) 5 cats.

I have one expensive companion--Mickey, my little black poodle. I had to take him to the vet and groomer both yesterday and he is now worth an additional $260. Since last January 2008 he is worth about $1400 more in meds and vets and grooming due to all the allergies.

But he is with me always and every step and every day, unlike my husband--or the grandkids who visit a couple of times a week. I just wish sometimes he could talk--and let me know where I laid down stuff and can't find it two minutes later--I'm sure he knows.

All in all he is a real bargain for such a constant and faithful companion every minute of every day!

I have a terrier mix that I got from a rescue group. My avatar is a picture of her. Sometimes I have her groomed & clipped and she looks totally different, but I prefer her messy look the best. We also have a cat who adopted us about 20 years ago.

We have two dogs which we treat like our children. Gunner is a West Highland Terrier 12 years old and Winston a Shi Tzu who’s 10. Our home wouldn’t be the same without the joy they bring.

This topic is right up my alley. As my registered yulelog name might be a hint. We have 96 horses and 9 dogs. We own a trail ride business so I do have an excuse for the horses. I have 8 Jack Russell's, I guess that qualifies them as a collection. Then I have a husky/wolf cross to protect them. I am putting on a St Patrick's Day Funday for the Jack Russell club on Sunday. I also have one with congestive heart he is on diuretics 2 times a day but holding his own. I wish I could figure out how to post a picture.
