I am going to cancel a reservation at the Westin for Friday and Saturday nights. Does anyone want it before I cancel? I reserved 2 rooms and we're only going to use 1.

I'm also looking for a Westin reservation for Thursday night. Anyone have one they aren't going to use??? Most websites like travelocity and expedia show the hotel as sold out on Thursday night. The Westin's website does show a couple of high priced specialty rooms that I am thinking about but would like to see if anyone has one they aren't going to use at hopefully a lesser price.

I don't need it but know someone who does . . . but they'd also need Thursday night.

A member of my local club has Westin reservations for August 6-9 for $118 plus taxes per night. That is for Thursday through Saturday nights. She asked me to see if anyone can use them before she cancels them.

With people canceling,I have a feeling that is the reason for those rooms being open.

I had a chance to get a room for a couple from my Club at the Westin for the three days. Someone had to cancel out and I asked if they could take her room. She agreed, so I called my Friend.

She could not take it. When she reserved their room at the Hyatt, she was told it had to be pre-paid with NO CANCELLATIONS! I could not believe it! I even called the Hyatt and they told me that it was true. Why, because of the price guarantee. If they wanted the Hallmark special price, they had to pre-pay. I am wondering if people canceled out in the past when Hallmark had an Event to find a room at the Westin. Causing them to lose money. At least the Westin does not have this rule.

I do not know of any rooms available. My Friend still has her room at the Hyatt.

I would love to take your extra reservation but I had to prepay when I booked at the Hyatt and its NON-REFUNDABLE; the Westin was booked when I phoned, but I wanted to be sure that I had a room...

I was told when I made reservations at the Hyatt that cancellations were allowed with at least a 24 Hr notice. I hope this is still true because I may have to cancel one room since my sister will probably not be going since her cancer is back and she will be involved in treatments in August.

I will have one extra room at the Hyatt for T, F, & Sat. I think I had requested a King Bed for this room.

If anyone needs one let me know as I don't think it will be needed but do not plan on cancelling until after my sister's treatments get started.

I just called my friend and she says the Hyatt "tried" to pull that on her . . . . and she told them NOBODY had informed her that the rooms were not refundable . . . . put her on hold for several minutes and they came back and said yep you weren't advised of that and they have credited her money back and she has checked her account and it has already gone through.

Sue, this is what I was talking about. My Friend would have loved to change hotels, but, like you, she is locked into her Hyatt Reservation.

Deana, when I called the Hyatt, they had it on record that they told her about the no cancellation rule, so she can not get out of it just to change Hotels.

Lots of rooms now available at the Westin for all 3 nights - Aug 6,7 and 8. One good promotion they have too is book for one night at $199 and get two extra nights for the year of your birth. Example - If you were born in 1967 you get the 2 nights for $67 a night each or if you were born in 1942 you get the rooms for $42 a night each. Works out as a decent price for the total - at least comparable to the Hallmark rate of $118 a night.

I have been calling the Westin every other day for 10 days and finally last night was able to add Thursday night to my stay. I had to pay $165. instead of the $118 rate I have for Friday and Saturday. I was first quoted over $239.

Also ONLY king beds left.

Goalie, I don't think $118.00 is bad but the rate you described in much better. It would have saved me $80.00.

Thanks for posting this, Goalie!

I was born in '54, so my price would be $307 vs. $354, if that's right. I'm having my hubby check into it with the Westin tomorrow and we'll see what he finds out!
