I think you might be spot-on about it being only 250 made of the purple Crown Center pin. The Hallmark store had posted exactly how many were made on a sign on the glass bowl that the pins were kept in on the store counter...wish I would have taken a photo of the sign so that I knew how many were made! But my memory was thinking around 200 or so, so 250 fits right in that range.
It's hard to get reliable info on any pin, and really not of great importance to me. While it might not be important to you how many were made once you own one, it will affect how many will be out there and available for trading. I'm pretty sure that pretty "Hallmark purple" logo pin will be in high demand especially because of the super-low production.
I'm hoping the Anniversary pins will be plentiful as I'd really like to get one of those, too. Did Hallmark send multiple Anniversary Pins to each of their stores? I'm assuming enough for each employee at every store. If so, it greatly improves my chances of getting one. If it was only one per store, then there would only be a few thousand. In any case, it would be really nice to wear one and celebrate Hallmark's many years of "the very best."
Ginny, since you like Hallmark pins, did you see the one with the Kansas City skyline that was also sold at the event? It was really colorful and fun.
