Marilyn K. just visited for our 4th Annual Shopping trip to Christmas stores! Talk about FUN! We traveled 1450 miles in 5days, only staying overnight once in Warsaw In. We visited 12 Christmas stores and 7 Hallmarks. (Hallmarks all tend to look the same anymore, they're not unique like they used to be)

I can truly thank TODD for Yulelog, if it wasn't for Yulelog I wouldn't have met so many wonderful friends, Thanks to Hallmark for events so all these friends can meet in person, and a HUGE thanks to my husband who gladly took care of my 89yr old dad who lives with us, while we were out boosting the economy! We found some really neat, unique items.

Here's a link to pictures!

That is AMAZING! Did you have to rent a U-Haul along the way? LOL Either that or you drive an SUV or a car with a very large trunk! ;\)

Off to look at the pics!

That was so much fun to peruse your photo album! Thanks for sharing!

Have to admit...I want to see what was IN the shopping bags! I'm so jealous of all the great stores you were able to visit.

Ok, Kathy & Diana, I just added some/most of the purchases I made! Deanna, we took a van, but it helped coming home sometimes in between. Now...you should see my dining room where everything is, along with stuff I got out to continue decorating! can you say MESS?! As I mumble "too much stuff", my name's Elaine and I'm a Christmas addict!! At least I know you all understand! LOL

Elaine, I'm very jealous of the fantastic Christmas stores you have, although maybe not real close judging by the number of miles you two traveled, but still there is NOTHING that comes within anything near to what you have available. IF there were such a place near me, I'd be very tempted to get a part time job there during the Christmas season to enjoy the surroundings, although I'd probably never come out ahead on the paycheck, I'd wind up owing THEM . . . but I bet I'd get a good employee discount. Maybe that is what I should do. Open me a very large Christmas store and work 3-4 months a year. \:\) I can see Steve's eyes rolling from my front porch . . . twenty miles away while he's at work. ;\)

Loved the Dept. 56 displays and everything else. Thought it was very clever how they used the curved pieces of peppermint pavement standing up on either side of styrofoam steps. The igloo, too cute. Loved it all!!!!! I'll be going back to take a peek and maybe taking some notes. ;\)

Elaine -I have a suggestion for next year. You rent a small bus and charge people to take them on a 3-4 day of Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan to various Christmas stores. Sandy and I will accompany you and Marilyn on the bus dressed as Mr. and Mrs. Santa. Come to think of it ....a large bus. Each night the entire tour will spend the evening at a Bed 'n Breakfast already decdorated for Christmas. I'm telling you ...you'd have Yuleloggers fly in from all over the USA to be on this tour.
I always love your photos and the 2-3 times I've been to your house I have been totally amazed at your artistry. Looking forward to coming up to an early Janurary club meeting!! Glad you and Marilyn had such a good time. Alan

That is quite a wonderful tradition that you have started. If you get the opportunity go the the National Christmas Center in Lancaster, PA. They have a small gift shop and truly fabulous displays. I went to a Golden Glow convention there and it was an activity that was offered. The guy in charge of the convention owns the National Christmas Center.

I was amazed at the amount of Christmas Items on display, it probably takes 45 minutes or more to go through all of the rooms that are set up.

He also had a display of Christmas trees by decade with the newest being in the 50s. Many of the trees were in reproduced furnished rooms. This display is at the quilt center in downtown Lancaster.

Here is a link for the National Christmas Center:

Thank you for sharing those wonderful photos. Gosh, I have no idea where some of the shops are located but I sure would love to go and see them. I don't think I would ever get tired of looking at beautiful Christmas decorations. \:\)

Thanks for sharing all the photos and taking me along on your trip. It certainly does look like you had a wonderful time. So...is Bronner the biggest and the best? Loved the mini cookie cutters, and it was great seeing photos of the Party Shop, love that store.
