I need your help. I want to make a mickey mouse wreath: 2 little wreaths for the ears attached to a larger wreath. But I cannot figure out the best way to attach the ears to the big wreath. I tried florist wire and it didn't hold. Any suggestions?

Here's one I made several years ago.

I used cable ties (also called zip ties or zip strips) to hold it all together. You can pull them as tight as you want and just clip off the excess and nothing will come apart til you cut it apart. Hope this helps!

I love your wreath, Karen!

Zip ties work for many things. They are strong but easy to cut for removal.

Thanks, Karen. I couldn't remember who had made the wreath but ever since I saw it, I wanted to make one. Zip ties...I would never have thought of that. Thanks so much. I hope mine looks half as good as yours!

Wow, that's a beautiful wreath. I wanted to have some kind of Disney display this year, but have ended up with what looks like just a pile of ornaments on the coffee table. The wreath is such an intelligent way to display. Thanks for sharing.

When I made mine I just used wire wrapped around and around where the wreaths meet.

I always love that wreath, Karen.

Some of my Disneys are wired onto garland over my windows (took down the curtains and wired a strand of garland to the rod). Last year, I took the time to add lights to the garland. Not this year. That's so not worth the time.

May I also suggest battery-powered light strings for wreaths? I have 2 wreaths using Hobby Lobby battery powered light strings. 1 has 1 strand of multi and the other has 2 strands of clear due to its size. The lights were $1.99 per set and run off 2 C cell batteries. It makes for easier displays since you don't have to put them near outlets. To keep the battery packs in place, I used yarn and securely fastened them in there (wire didn't work).

I thought of Diana right away too. Didn't she do one with white wreaths? Maybe I'm wrong.

Awesome wreath Karen. Did you enter that in a decorating contest a couple years back?

I did. I couldn't remember what year so I went looking in the club members forum. The decorating contests from 2002, 2003 and 2004 are still up and my wreath is in the 2004 wreath category.

Looking back through the 2002 contest, Diana did a snowman wreath using 3 descending sized white wreaths.

Karen, that is also how I remembered it, although I didn't recall specific years. Also fab5friend, Teresa, has also done a Mickey Mouse Icon wreath, I think, but I don't remember IF she ever entered it in the contest or just shared photos of it.

Here's what I do:
1) I have an account on Photobucket.com and upload my photos there, it's free.
2) Sometimes if I think the photo is too big I resize it there.
3) Then I scroll over the thumbnail of my choosing and Photobucket will give me 4 options:
Email & IM
Direct Link
HTML code
IMG code
I left click on IMG code and it's automatically copied to my notebook.
4) Then I come over here, type my note, right click my mouse and choose paste...and the IMG code appears in my post.
5) Preview your post then click post and you're done.

Hope this helps.

Hi Debbie,

The majority of the ornaments that were on the wreath were Hallmark Disney ornaments that I'd collected over the years. Scattered around there were a few from Disney World, The Disney Store and other places.

Glad you liked it!

Karen,
Your wreath is beautiful. What do you use to hang your ornaments and my BIGGEST question is how do you store it? Also do the smaller wreaths lay down when you remove the wreath from the wall?
