Thank you for posting that, Joyce. Here I was beginning to think I was the only one who didn't race to open Hallmark mail or order Hallmark stuff. Just too much other stuff going on right now. Sooner or later I'll get around to looking at the Hallmark mailers and stuff. Que Sera Sera.

My Hallmark stuff is always late (I'm still waiting on the October Debut $2 certificate). I've received the Valentine mailer, but no renewal so far.

Did not receive mine in Western MA. I can't wait to get it. I have to decide what 2 ornaments I want. They are all cute. The Santa looks like it belongs with the stove and table.

I work at a Hallmark store and it seems to me the wholesale ornament catalog we receive includes information on the "free" ornament. I'll write myself a note to post the information when we get our store catalogs (probably in March?). ....Susan....

I received my renewal form in the mail today (northwest WA). I like the Christmas Window. The For Keeps description mentions the artist's comment - "I put a tiny silver Christmas tree in there to represent the tinsel trees we used to have."

I remember tinsel trees!

Hi

a few years ago we use to get free ornaments with membership. (not the free ornament we get in Nov/Dec. Now They are charging for everything. Maybe I am wrong. I know a few years ago in 2003
I was ill and did not renew. I tried to renew to keep my membership running But it was to late. I offered to pay the membershsip without the ornaments but they would not allowed me. I know it was my mistake, But as a loyal customer since the cluib started gave me a bad taste. Hallmark has not improved ini customer relations. Some of you are lucky you have great stores. Since I have been a member the Hallmark stores have given me a cookie here and there. I always say I am going to cut back but I don't. So I am the one who is being a fool. oh some of my Hallmark stores at still at 60 0/0.

Actually, the last couple of years we have gotten a free ornament at premier if we are a member of the club.

I finally received my renewal in the mail. I just wish everything with Hallmark wasn't "Coming Soon". The ornaments won't be shipped for months. Why start the renewal process before the online option is available? Haven't collectors wanted this for years? How long does it take to get it ready? Don't they plan things way in advance? I'm sorry I'm so grumpy. I have a headache from not getting enough sleep

You have to look at things from a big company perspective. The renewal information has to be printed at a time that they can get the printer to do it. The signage for Mother's Day has been underway for months, and you know that the cards for graduation and Mother's Day are probably printed. They had to coordination the renewal/new membership brochures along with For Keeps with their printers. And before they could send For Keeps to the printers it had to be approved by a whole bunch of people.

Running parallel to the production of the brochure is the website activity. I'd be willing to bet Keepsakes doesn't have dedicated computers, so they have to go through another group to get the website work done. That process involves designing what we see on the webpage and all the functionality behind it. And I'm sure they don't have dedicated programmers waiting for the work to come their way, so that resource has to be scheduled. If you can reuse something you've used in the past (like bonus points for ornament purchases at Premiere) you development time is shorter and you have lest testing to do. But if you've never done this, you have to make sure you outline all of the requirements, figure out what information you need to process everything correctly, get it coded, test it, and make sure you get the migration on the schedule of the people who have to do it. Some groups may get priority - you know that the ordering system for Christmas products will have to be ready to go on time so stores can place their orders in order to get the merchandise on time. And you don't know what emergency might arise when you try to migrate the changes - your system could fail, a migration or maintenance activity might take longer than you anticipated so you spend more time working on that than you planned to do.

I think Keepsakes has had issues with meeting the dates they've set enough times that they don't want to announce a date and then have to change it. And not having an announced date may help them to not get as many calls to customer service or EMails complaining about it.
