Today I found a 2001 Sky's The Limit, Gee Bee R-1 Super Sportster in box, for 99 cents. I looked for ones on e-bay and sellers are wanting anywhere from $64 up to $120. What would be so special about this plane that a seller would think it would sell for such a high price? It's just like any Hallmark ornament that goes up in value on the secondary market - higher demand for it than there is product. Some of the early editions in that series were really over-produced. So stores started cutting back on orders, and then that year there were not many ordered, but it's a cute plane and sold out before Christmas. I bought one early that year as we love the movie The Rocketeer, and there is a Gee Bee that is featured significantly in it. Congrats on a great find getting one for under a buck! Score.

I found a Yesteryear Angel in a bag of ornaments I found in a thrift store earlier this year. There were five other Hallmark ornaments w/o boxes in the bag , all for $2.99.

If I remember correctly, the 2010 Smiling Soldier was free if you bought ornaments at Premiere and Debut so I got one and just loved it. Then last summer I found the rest at the flea market. I would like to find 2 more to have a dozen.

Queli, those Smiling Soldier ornaments were quite a find. Congrats!
I've also collected everything in your display - (I think I have 6 of Smiling Soldier!). They represent some of my favorite Hallmark's original designs...
Smiling Soldier, 2010 Santa Sleigh Collection, 2009, by Edythe Kegrize Snow Cozy, 2002-2005, by Linda Sickman Li'l Locomotive, 2009, by Nello Williams Caboose, Noel R.R., 1998, by Linda Sickman
Doll furniture is such an interesting way to display miniature ornaments. Love your display!

Lisa, thanks for your comment and for listing the other ornaments in the photo. The only item I would add to your list is:
1998 Hallmark Holiday Sensation Barbie-Special Edition, 3rd and final in the Holiday Homecoming Collector's Series

My recent find at a thrift store was a Hallmark plush valentine. Has three "hugs and kisses" across the top of a front pocket. I like to stick my Valentine lapel pins on them. Sue Pasadena, Maryland

I came home from work yesterday, to see an Hallmark ornament box on the dining room table at my place. My hubby picked up the 1980 Checking It Twice, Special Edition ornament for $2 at a flea market. It's one I didn't have, so I was really happy!

Thanks Raindoggy!
Mary Lou...lucky you!
Diana...that Barbie looks great deboxed and the snood keeps her hair immaculate. I've had lots of fun playing with her and I know you will too once you put her "in action".

Went to an estate sale bright and early this morning, and picked up some great finds for $3 each, all in boxes, including: 2004 I'm Melting! Melting! WOZ 2004 Santas From Around the World - Germany, USA, Norway 2009 Comic Book Heroes #1 Spider-Man 2009 Robby the Robot Also got a bunch of cars from the Classic American Cars Series, some more super heroes, and a few Star Wars and Looney Tunes ornaments. Afterwards I stopped by a couple thrift stores and found 2002 Frosty Friends in box for $1, the 2005 piano playing snowman plush for $5, and these three loose at the bottom of a $5 bag of random Christmas things: 1976 Merry Miniature Santa http://tinyurl.com/l3rp3nm1980 Swingin' on a Star http://tinyurl.com/lny99xt1980 Thimble #3 http://tinyurl.com/kg9jeweMy first thimble! Also my first Hallmark find in a bag of random things, that was pretty fun.

I wish we had those kinds of thrift stores around here. We got nodda until close to Christmas and we sure don't get those great finds.
Congrats everyone on your finds.
