LOVE that reindeer! Great get, Susan.
I need two of that Santa, LOL. One to go with Nostalgia ornaments, one to go on Santa tree.

Congrats Susan! I've not come across any from that collection in thrift stores!

I managed to get out again today. All seasonal items at both stores were 50% off!

Three Hallmark ornaments came home with me...

Sweet Talk, 1991 for $1.50 http://www.hookedonhallmark.com/1991-Sweet-Talk_p_2492.html

Abearnathy Bearinger, The Bearingers, 1993 for $1 http://www.hookedonhallmark.com/1993-Bearingers--Abearnathy_p_2960.html

A Pony for Christmas, ninth in series, 2006 for $2 http://www.hookedonhallmark.com/2006-Pony-for-Christmas-9_p_11669.html

I also found three hand painted porcelain elves from The Christmas Ornament Collectors Club for $1 each. One is shown on the far left of the picture within this listing...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHRISTMAS-ORNAME...=item2a309649d7

I was losing hope in my search for hand blown ball ornaments this year when, happily, I finally found six large, 10 cm, shiny gold ornaments in their original box for $2 - (similar to these; sold by the Bon Marche throughout the 90's)...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NIB-XLrg-10-cm-1...=item2c77d36c68

Another happy find was the book, The Christmas Tree: The Heart of Traditional Yuletide by Barbara Segall for $1.50...

http://www.amazon.com/Christmas-Tree-Bar...+Barbara+Segall

It's hard to stay out of the stores right now!

Had to go out, and this is what I found when I dropped by a thrift store for 20 minutes, and at 50% off...

For a Special Dad, 1991 (Enesco) for $1.50... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Enesco-Treasury-...=item5401edf66b

Joan Walsh Anglund, 1979 for 50 cents... http://www.hookedonhallmark.com/1979-Joan-Walsh-Anglund--NB_p_8249.html

Chris Mouse Wreath, 6th in series, 1990 for $1.50... http://www.hookedonhallmark.com/1990-Chris-Mouse-6--SDB_p_13656.html

Baking Sweet Treats, 1994 for $2 - (missing bowl & rolling pin)... http://www.hookedonhallmark.com/1994-Baking-Tiny-Treats--Miniature-_p_29440.html

And 30 ball ornaments in hard to find colors for $3

Took my friend to work and did another quick run through the thrift store this morning...

Santa's Key Man (Enesco; elf needs to be reattached) for $1.50... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Enesco-Ornament-...=item54023ce6eb

Four street lamps, similar to the ones Karen's posted pictures of in her Christmas Window display yesterday, for $2

And another beautiful St. Nicholas display piece, this one holding a doll for $1.50. It's my absolute favorite find for this year. Picture to follow...

The colors on the St. Nicholas piece are so subtle, I missed him last night. His coat is soft, light green, and he's carrying a doll with his arm and sack over his shoulder. He stands 11 1/2" tall. I love him...

Lisa, you've had some terrific finds. Agree your new Father Christmas is lovely. Looks Victorian in style/coloring. That Enesco piece is darling. I love Enesco details. Do you collect Chris Mouse? Other people seem to find them quite regularly, but I've only ever found one during my thrift shopping.

Diana, this is the first time I've found a Chris Mouse ornament in a thrift store. Still in the process of completing this collection. The one I found is a duplicate, but I may collect two sets so going to hang onto him.

What do you use to re-glue Enesco ornaments? And how do you do it Diana?

Depends on what is broken where. Sometimes just regular super glue. I like Lock-tite that comes with a little brush applicator.

Thanks Diana. For Enesco ornaments, that have such small parts, that may be the way to go.

Warning to owners of 1978 Reindeer Chimes and 1980 Santa Mobile. I found both at the charity store and really wanted them. They were in the box perfect $2 each, until I picked them up. The green stuff in the bottom of each box had attached to them. I tried brushing off the crumbly stuff, but it was stuck on. So, please don't get disgusted, I spit on my finger and tried rubbing it off. That stuff had eaten into the metal! I don't know how many ornaments were packaged using this stuff, but be aware, it ruined these ornaments.

Picked up a bag with not 1, not 2 but 3 Halls family ornaments today at an antique mall that was marked down to 50 cents. They did not have their cards but all three had the corded tassel that they were issued with.

Congrats JDortch. It's fun revisiting the older ornaments. The Graceful Angel Tree Topper Miniature is pretty. I wonder, how tall is it?

And The Shepherds is particularly lovely, valuable too!

Ahh I saw the sheppards at the flea market the week before Christmas. For 5.00. Passed on them because, I thought I do not need them. I thought for 2 seconds they were hard to find but, left my phone in the car. So, was unable to confirm.
