Found Elmer Fudd (1993) and Daffy Duck (1994) in a bag with two other ornaments today - Baloo the Bear (Grolier) and Porky Pig ice skating holding mistletoe (Warner Bros.?) - no boxes, $2.99.

Hi Lisa...nice finds! I have the Porky and Daffy ones...I especially love Daffy ... I hang him in the middle of a Hallmark acrylic star tree topper...a fitting topper for my pop culture tree. I might try something new this year though. Love your Baloo, too!!

A couple of weeks ago, I did find a Hallmark stained "glass"(acrylic)pendant....pendant is the term used on the box...full description was "Translucent Window Pendant"...it was also supposed to have the "convenient clear plastic suction hanger but that was missing. It is a wreath with Season's Greetings in the middle and it is about seven and a half inches and originally sold for $10 (I got it for just under a dollar). I just like the novelty of it...never seen one. Will take a picture of it when I take my Halloween pictures. I have given it the once over but don't see the Hallmark name or year on it so I was glad that it was still in the box and plastic form that it nestles in otherwise, I might not have recognized it as Hallmark.

In another store I found two Enesco Coke ornaments. One has two little polar bears sipping Coke while sitting on a working round Coke thermometer. The other one is an elf placing a star made from straws on top of a Coke and Sprite tree.

The fun has begun!

Yay! I'm also glad to see Christmas beginning to show up in the thrift stores.

I'm thinking about donating my Looney Tune ornaments to Festival of Trees this year. Giving away a theme tree is not easy for me. Building up the resolve to do it!

I LOVE your idea of using Daffy Duck with his angel halo, wings, and gown in the middle of an acrylic star for the tree topper. You may have just solved a problem for me.

Which one did you use? I think I have the acrylic tree topper you're talking about. Is it this one? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hallmark-Clear-Acrylic-Tree-Topper-Christmas-Star-/272017306044?hash=item3f557eb1bc:g:uLoAAOSwHnFVxndQ

I found one like this in a mint box several years ago. I think mine was $1.99. I may have to pull that out this year to enjoy. I can't remember if the suction cup was in there or not, but it is a really pretty piece. It reminds me of a heart I got more than 30 years ago new at the Hallmark store that I had hanging on a window year-round.

I haven't found anything yet at the thrift stores but I quit looking after Goodwill rearranged and cleaned up the store; it looked like the holiday things were packed up and hadn't been unpacked. I think it's time to start making the rounds to see what I might find.

I got a group of 60 ornaments for 150.00 at an animal rescue thrift shop. I did not see all the ones in the group before purchasing. Some are barely worth the 2.50 I paid, but a few were valued at 30 - 50. I got 2 I have been about to pay 30+ for in a Facebook group. The best part is that I helped animals and fed my addiction at the same time.

The Puppy Love#2 Terrier. I only need one more to finish the regular series. Heavenly Nap 1981 by Donna Lee. The 1978 Joy ( I had been thinking of buying it on Facebook for 12 or 13). December Showers, also by Donna Lee (1987). Of the 60 I got, I only had 37 duplicates. Not bad for a blind purchase. One is broken, but maybe fixable. I have not examined them all yet, but most look to be mint.

Not a Hallmark find, but I found this metal ornament tree for $4 at my local Habitat for Humanity Restore. I put the Lady Western Tanager on it to show about how large it is. It's just under 2 feet tall.

I haven't decided what I'll put on it yet, and I need to polish it up. I couldn't pass it up for $4.

If anyone lives near the AmVets store in Copiague, NY, I dropped off a couple of large bags of ornaments (boxed) that I just couldn't find room for in my new place. We moved from a 3 bed house with attic and basement storage to a double-wide trailer and Ive had to get rid of close to 36 years of collecting. Don't worry, I still have 14 tubs (22 gal down to 10 gal) size of ornaments to eventually sort. Who knows I could get rid of more....:(

I had a surprisingly good day at the thrift stores today...

This picture is a nod to Sue's topper idea. smile

Red Tinsel topper, $3; Wild Thing, 2010, no box, non-working frown $2.99; 10 iridescent glass balls, 99 cents; and a red 70" round tablecloth, retails for $19.99, got it for $3.99 - (Daffy Duck, 1994, was a find from last week).

I needed the tablecloth for next week, which I had a few years ago, but have since misplaced. The topper is for the Looney Tunes tree I'm decorating for Festival of Trees. Not sure which character I'll pair with it yet, but it's just what I needed! smile

This week I found a 1979 Precious Moments "Come Let Us Adore Him" 9 piece nativity set. Got it for $20 which I thought was a decent price. I only have one other Precious Moments figure (boy and girl working on a heart puzzle)but I thought this would make a nice addition to my growing nativity collection.

Also paid $20 for Dept 56 New England Village Old North Church. Growing up in Massachusetts, this was a nice find for me...will enjoy putting it out each Christmas.

And, yesterday I found a 1978 Merry Miniature Turkey...50 cents

Sue, congrats on your finds, and such good deals!

Your nativity - (is this the one?) - is beautiful...

And here's pictures of your Dept 56 church and Merry Miniature...

I found two of the red snap side ornament storage boxes still in cellophane. I really like these boxes!

Great find gigl2!

Every year, I find a few more ornament storage boxes. I much prefer used, though sometimes they're new, like yours. The price is right, that's for sure!

Sean, I'm so envious. I've been wanting the 1983 Baroque Angels (and 1982 Baroque Angel) for years, but not enough to buy either because I don't have a theme tree to add it to. I treasure my Donna Lee ornaments.

Congrats on your finds! Here's the links...
