As you heard, being a member of the KOC, we get a free one year subscription to their site Feeln.

I received my code in the email the other day and I followed the directions. I can watch it on my computer, but I can not register it on AppleTV to get an activation code for it.

I followed the directions on how to get that code. I found Feeln on AppleTV, clicked on it and it keeps bobbing up and down. Will not open for me to register. Fine! I emailed them yesterday and received a reply. Either I am missing something or the guy is not understanding what I am talking about. I TOLD him that I am registered and I can't click into Feeln on AppleTV in order to go to the upper right hand corner to get or activate it. He gave me a new code as though he did not read I AM REGISTERED. TWICE! I just send him a reply using capital letters repeating I AM REGISTERED!!!

If anyone received their code, did you have problems? Oh, I watched a little of it yesterday and when I went on there before coming on here. I did not get sound. It is not my computer.

I am not activating the free code since I do not want to be auto-enrolled after the free year.

I was told that a membership would be around $35 a year. I am still having problems getting it and the Tech guy told me that I should call him and he will walk me through it. I will be busy today, so I will call tomorrow.

I'm with you. I'll be skipping the activation of the code as well. Not programming that I'm really interested in.

Where does it say you will be auto-enrolled after the free year. If you write a check, I don't think they can charge you. With a credit card, perhaps.

If you look at Hallmark.com, in the section where they describe the benefits of being a KOC member, they state "NEW! Unlimited video streaming subscription service for one year with your favorite movies, plus new Keepsake Ornament videos coming soon! (U.S. only.)" To many of us that implies that after the first year you are automatically signed up for a second year unless you cancel it.

You are right that if you write a check for your membership they have nothing to use to charge you for the second year, and the same is true if you renew/join through a local store since Hallmark doesn't get your credit card information then. Many of us suspect that if you renew online or by calling 1-800-HALLMARK and give them your credit card then they might automagically charge you next year.

I decided to renew on-line with my credit card so I have CC protection for the purchase. I'm not activating the free code. If HM auto-renews me next year, I'll ask for a credit or dispute the charge with my credit card company. What a hassle! It should only be renewed if the customer chooses to renew or signs up for auto-renewal. Bad idea, Hallmark!

This is from the Hallmark.com KOC website. http://explore.hallmark.com/keepsake-orn...ns/#feeln-terms
"Free one-year Feeln subscription

U.S. only. Credit card required to activate free subscription. An access code will be provided to reduce your cost to $0.00 for the first year.

If you do not cancel prior to the one year anniversary of your activation date, your subscription will be renewed for an annual subscription at $35.99."

I dislike when companies do the automatic credit card charge. They do it to make money off those folks who forget to cancel. I consider this to be underhanded and don't give my credit card info. which means I don't get the free year (or whatever). In the case of "Feeln" (nice spelling) I won't miss it.

The more I think about this I think that I'll also renew by check only. I don't like the idea of someone just extending my "service" without asking me; this is why I don't have Sirus radio in my car any more!

And I think that the loss of the bonus points will be worth not having to deal with both my credit card and Hallmark on this next year!

HALLMARK: Bad, Bad idea!

The Feeln membership is not automatically started if you use a CC to renew your KOC membership. I received an email after I renewed my KOC membership with a CC, with a choice to start my free year of Feeln membership.

I'm not interested in Feeln, so I will not be joining.

I'm wondering how many people do not like the auto-renew for Feeln and will not activate the "free" code. I really hope I do not have to hassle with this next year since I did not activate the membership.

I didn't sign up as I don't like the auto-renew. I think if they want people to renew anything they should send an email reminder to let people renew or opt out of renewing.

I do not like the auto renew and will not activate that feature. This is a bad idea Hallmark.
