Congrats on your tree find erika20_98. Wow!

On Tuesdays, seniors receive a 30% discount which makes shopping at the thrift store more fun. Tonight I found one of the Hallmark School Days Lunch Boxes, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Number 1E/3226, still sealed in it's original plastic for $3.50. I love all things tin, so brought it home with me...

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R4...er&_sacat=0

I have no idea what I'm going to do with it, but like the artwork. smile

I'm seeing some Hallmark Halloween and Christmas items, but nothing that I want so far.

Lisa, what thrift shop do you shop at that gives you 30% off?

Value Village. Also Goodwill. Hopefully your local thrift stores offer a senior discount too. Never hurts to call and ask the if, what and when questions. smile

WOW Lisa! What a find. I had completely forgotten they did a lunch box with Harry Potter book art. That would be a great piece in a display since it provides a good background and height.
PS I love tin things, too. I have a hard time not buying tins at thrift stores.

That's a good idea Diana. Thanks!

I returned a pan yesterday and everything in store was 50% off. Found a few tea light holders and rubberstamps that I really liked. Fun!

Beginning to see more Halloween and Christmas, but not the good stuff yet. They're still holding it back. Waiting, waiting, patiently waiting...

No Hallmarks today, but on Thursdays there's a 20% discount for seniors at our Goodwill.

I left behind this Marjolein Bastin "JOY" candle holder... https://www.ebay.com/itm/MARJOLEIN-BASTI...;LH_TitleDesc=0 I should go back and get it.

I brought home this Partylite Forest Friends lamp WITH the frosted glass shade intact for $8... https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R4...ds&_sacat=0 I have most of the collection. The forest theme and black brown metal blends well with the Christmas tree. (It's the very last Forest Friend listing in the link. Sadly, the glass shade isn't shown).

Not a thrift store find but I recently was approached by my local Hallmark asst manager to ask if I would be interested in the older cupcake continuation series and display. A sister store found old stock in a back room and it was sent to them to possibly sell.

I declined that day but asked if they sold them when I was in yesterday just out of curiosity. The manager offered to sell them to me for $0.10 a piece and the display for $0.50 a piece. They had three cupcake displays and every month but the reindeer. They also had quite a few of the extra baker's dozen. I ended up purchasing 20 cupcakes total and all three stands for $2.80 since she added a 20% off sale items.

Our Goodwill was putting out fall decor last night. I got a cute metal barn and a village spokky fence. It's cute
I will go back tonight.

Lisa, that JOY candle holder with Santa's is really beautiful! I hope you go back and it is still there for you. I would not have been able to walk away.

Holly Moley Elliot the Elf - what an amazing deal on the cup cakes and displays. I thought I got a good deal getting the cupcakes for $2 each! At less than 20 cents each I'd be tempted to repaint/redecorate some of the cupcakes.
btw the stickers on the display case can be removed (use a little goo gone to get off the residue, and then rinse well so it doesn't discolor later). Then you can use the display case for other collections. I love them!

Went back to GW found six Hawthorne Village Peanuts Great Pumpkin vignettes. And today at a sale found the KOCC 58 Edsel. Which I don't think I have.

Thanks Diane*,

I bought a few displays from this same store a year or so ago when they were down to a 1.00 a piece. Adding these three to the mix will give me about 8 or 9 displays. My original thought was to paint them to cover the sticker but I like your suggestion.

I want to use a few of them to display the Mary's Angels series and somehow make the display into a cloud of sorts.

Here are my purchases

I think mine may not have the wheel

Tin Barn Candle holder

And this this Dept 56 Spooky Yard scene looks perfect in front of it. The battery compartment is really is corroded. What do I use to clean it again?

I can't wait to see how the Owl and Raven and Bat fit in to it. I am afraid that my pickup with the pumpkins from last year is too big in scale though.

Got these all at one garage sale today. There were about 3-400 Hallmarks. Apparently she has been having Hallmark only sales for a couple of years AND I DID NOT KNOW! I am not sure how I missed them. Anyway I was quite choosy because I only had a limited amount of cash. They were $3 each and $1 for the group in the second picture. I have her number so I may go back. There are some others I want. The Snow Cub Clubs are to replace a broken set I have. I left some good ones that I already have.

I also got a set of family tree ornaments at the first sale I went to and found these odd little Wysocki looking houses with trees sticking out of them and a birchbark snowman.

Wow, isn't the miniature cardinal worth $50 or something? It's been a while since I've looked. So many great finds kindacowboy. Congrats!

I found an ornament dear to my heart tonight, 1987 Jack Frosting. Also the 1981 Baby's First Christmas. 99 cents each...

And look at how an artist modified it...
