I found two merry miniature boxes ....you all know I love the merry miniatures.....

.89 CENTS each.
They came out in the mid 1980's

These? So adorable. Lucky you Susan I rarely find merry miniatures...

I stopped by two thrift stores after work. No Hallmarks but found a beautiful 15 1/2" glass icicle. Had to have it. Question now is how to store it!

I found one of those mint in box about 10 years ago for $1.99. I'm thinking that the box indicated there was something to help hold the topper on the top branch of the tree - did something come with the topper?

Ann, do you have the box?

Nancy, both of mine were in their original box, but I don't recall anything that came with the topper. Looking at four "sold" listings on Ebay, I don't see any reference to or pictures of a second piece...

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R4...c&LH_Sold=1

I've not used this topper yet, but I'd love to see it on a tree.

In the past, when I displayed a similar topper on a live, cut tree - (my Lenox porcelain angel that also had a small narrow recess) - I think I removed the bark from the tree's top, wrapped it in plastic wrap, then added the topper. It took a couple of tries. I believe it worked. But then my memory isn't as good as it used to be, and that was quite a few years ago.

Thanks, APAL2916 and Grandma Lise for letting me know about the topper being the only thing in the box. I'll have to check mine again to help me remember why I thought there was something else in there. But again, it's possible they've been separated/trashed over the years like the pigtail used for many of the ornaments that attach to a light string to light up the ornament.

Iíve had this topper for several years now (with box) and there was nothing else in the box nor any evidence that their was ever anything to add to the tree topper to put it in the tree. I can only speak for artificial trees, but the topper is either lighter or better balanced than recent tree toppers and I have never needed anything to support this star on top of the tree. I have had to do a little bit of balancing but it always has stood up using only the one branch on top of the tree. This is an artificial mini-tree I am using so it could be different but I wanted to let you know that you might want to try just putting it on top of the tree. It is a great and simple tree topper. I hope you enjoy your find.

It's such a timeless, classic style. I look forward to using this tree topper. Thanks for the additional information Paintbeanie.

Susan, I love that mouse on the red ball ornament! If you find another I'm calling dibs! LOL.

Ann, that's quite the haul of ornaments and at such bargain-basement prices. Congrats.

I shared on Facebook but can't remember if I posted this here or not, but I found (amongst others) several of the Merry Bakers including the Holiday Confections set of 4, Snicker & Doodle, and Dusty & Smidgeon. I already have a set of the bakers but did not have the little treats so was thrilled to get that. Also picked up 2007 Beauty of the Birds Blue Jay, 2009 Seasonís Treatings, 2003 Mischievous Kittens #5, 1985 Rocking Horse #5, 2002 Woodland Frolic, 1988 Tin Locomotive #7 (bad box), 1989 Christmas Classics #4 Little Drummer Boy, 1982 Babyís First Christmas, Calico Mouse no box, Mary's Angels #2 Bluebell no box. And maybe 20 miniature ornaments in box ranging from 25 cents to $2 but most either 50 cents or $1 each.

Awesome finds! This Big! is really cute, and Winter Trimmers, set of 6 felt, miniature ornaments is one of my all time favorite collections. I think I have 6 sets. They compliment the chalkware ornament collections from 2002 and 2003 and look so good hung on the tips of the branches. Love them. smile

It was $19.99 but with sales and coupon I got it for $2.68.

I can't believe it. I just need a few smaller props.
I do not sew and I'm not handy making things so I AM THRILLED!!!!

Kansas City here I come.

I'm not out to WIN just to be a part of the FUN!!!

I went to 5 thrift stores today, and I found two Hallmark ornaments at one thrift store. Alas, someone had stolen both of them and left the boxes empty. frown

I did find a vintage Christmas decoration $1.99 (plastic sleigh with plastic Santa, plastic greenery, and two white plastic reindeer), a Gund Snuffles (I have a soft spot for Snuffles) for 99 cents, and an unopened Ceaco Nene Thomas fairy puzzle for 99 cents. I have usually good luck with unopened puzzles at this Goodwill. They recently moved into a really big location, so it's pretty awesome. It used to be a drugstore and has its own stoplight, making it easy to get in and out.

Shame on people who steal ornaments. Something similar has happened to me. I bought a repaint from someone and when I went to pay for it, someone had switched it with a regular ornament.

But at least you found some good things.

I have found the same thing to happen around here. Such a shame too when you see a sticker that has it priced at less than dollar. Somethings we will never understand I guess.

My mom won a RTW at the Amy's in Crown Center. The store had displayed the prizes out in the open so people could see what they could win. Someone's sticky fingers took the RTW and put it in the box for the regular Toymaker Santa and bought it. The store personnel didn't notice that the "prize" was actually the regular line ornament. There weren't any additional RTW packages for the store to get so they could replace the prize ornament. So my mom has a box with the gold triangle for an ornament that isn't what it's supposed to be.
