I know this forum isnít for buying or selling so Iím not trying to do either; nor am I listing anything for sale. But I could really use some advice.
Iíve been collecting Hallmark ornaments for 30 years or more and have quite a collection. Whenever Iíd read of someone selling their collection Iíd always think: How can they do such a thing? Now it is me.
We are downsizing and in our retirement are planning a move to a condo with no garage or attic. So now we will have no room for all of the ornaments. Iíll keep enough to decorate a small tree but the rest must go. My children donít want them and I hate to just give them away. Some are very valuable, others not so much. Listing them separately on eBay would be a huge undertaking. Any advice would be much welcomed! Iíll post this in the selling forum, too, just in case. Thanks!

Fast way is to sell them all to a dealer. You will not get as much money because they take them all. Good ones and bad.

Sell them by series. All the houses or frosty friends. Otherwise you sell the good ones and are stuck with the common ones.

You might also contact Jane at ornamentmall.com . She is also a secondary marketer. Her contact information is on her website.

If your on Facebook on the Hallmark Buy/Sell/Trade groups, there are several people who might buy the whole collection. I know there's Suzette, Carmen, Jim, Matthew, Andrew, and I think even Kevin. If you have more questions, send me a PM.

Not about the ornaments but I want to pass along something a friend told me when we were looking for a smaller place (downsizing). She said, "Don't go too small or you won't like it and may end up moving again to something a little bigger." For us going down to a two bedroom with no office, etc. was too small. We did downsize by about 1200 sq ft. and it's still a challenge.

Dealers are very picky about what they will buy. I called Nicki (HookedonHallmarks) and tried to talk to her office helper who wouldn't even listen to info on some rare items I wanted to tell her about.
