My mom and I watched some of the national news on NBC tonight. They had a college student who is in Florida on spring break who said he didn't care if he got the coronavirus. He just wants to party.

Oh to be young and ignorant...

Too bad these kids don't consider how this affects their grandparents!

I started teleworking today. I will need to go to the office at least once a week until this subsides.

Public parks will be open but people can not congregate in groups of more then four.
Then there was this in the proclamation, "If I don't do something now, more people are gonna die." To me this statement is just irresponsible. It promotes fear and panic, rather then prudent vigilance.

Well this is off. The governor has overruled the county executive. So some things will be open and construction, road work will continue.

I heard on Inside Edition this evening that a family of 11 lost 4 members of their family and 3 others are critically ill. The family was at a gathering at a Catholic church in New Jersey. Church services were canceled.

The road to the Florida Keys will be closed.

All guests are being asked to leave the keys.

So far CA, NY, IL are closing their state. How they can do that is beyond me. Semi's go all over the country. It will be interesting to see what happens everywhere. Today our governor ordered all the hair salons, nail salons, barbershops, etc. closed.

And the people hoarding things are not helping the situation. Someone tried to return toilet paper. Still no tp in the stores, bleach, and hand sanitizer. Luckily, I found some Dial refill's of liquid hand soap. And the beginning of every month I stock up on tp, toweling, kleenex and laundry detergent. So I lucked out in having everything.

Sad news, I live in the same Diocesan and all Masses, including the upcoming Easter Masses are cancelled.

It's crazy. I work the front desk at BJs so it's as many hours as you will give them. People are nuts, and some of them so nasty. No I do not know when the next delivery is coming, no I am not hiding TP in the back room, no you may not have over the limit of 2 packs per item ( our packs are HUGE) and yes employees are entitled to buy items same as you

I really don't understand the TP shortage. My sister currently works for Kimberly-Clark (name and location withheld to prevent a mob rushing the plant or her home :-) ) and there is plenty being made and shipped. I'm sure the same is in other plants.

I should feel blessed that both my FT and part PT jobs are considered essential at the present time.

Working in the dairy industry, albeit ice cream, keeps us open although we have gone from a 2 shift operation to a single shift operation. Since we use large amounts of condensed cream which is a by-product of fluid milk production, we are a direct support line for the dairy industry and probably won't close.

PT I work as a lead technician at an Animal ER. We have drastically changed the way we handle cases but are still open. Doing all paperwork by phone has made things more difficult but we are seeing patients with minimal people contact to staff. So far, we have only had a few "grumpy gusses" come in who insist on being with there pet during triage/treatment and we insist they choose another ER. My 8 hour day turned into 16.5 hours but I will not complain under the current circumstances.
