I purchased a snowman from facebook market place and can only find very limited information on him. Hoping someone can help.

Funny story, I must not have been paying close attention to the picture as I quickly inquired about it. I could tell it was a Hallmark and a Mitford snowman so what else does one need to know when making a purchase decision quickly? Nothing I say.

So, I send a message and receive a reply over a week later that it is available. Wow, okay, yes I would like to get it and we decide to do porch pickup with no human interaction involved. I was to leave my $5.00 under the mat and pick up my little snowman from the porch. Wonderful!

Well, I get to the house expecting to see a little three inch snowman which is no where to be found but there is a huge guy leaning against the porch wall. I check the ad and realize he is three feet not three inches. Ooopppsss!

Buckled him into the backseat and sent my husband a picture to give him plenty of warning that we are taking in a new roommate. He (my husband, not the snowman) can sometimes roll his eyes when I walk in the house with a Hallmark bag containing a new ornament... wasn't sure how he would react to "Mitty" coming home to stay.

Surprisingly all he said was "you got a good deal if you only paid $5" and Mitty seems to be happy with his new home too. He (the snowman not my husband) has been smiling the entire time so everyone seems to be getting along well. Although he refuses to take his hat off in the house, with all the more serious stuff going on in the world right now I am letting it go as Elsa would say.

He is a three foot tall plush snowman with tree branch arms, red ear muffs, red mittens on a string, checkered scarf, and a metal bucket hat.
He looks like this guy: https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/giant-over-3-ft-tall-hallmark-mitford-plush

A very cute story!

I love the Mitford Snowmen ornaments that I have but never seem to put them out at Christmas. I must remember to do so now that I've begun (HA!) to re-box and sort my collection!

LOL! Is expecting 3 inch and receiving 3 foot, better than expecting 3 foot and receiving 3 inches? LOL!

Well, I picked up a friend for my "Mitty" yesterday.

Not as good a deal as he was but not bad overall. I paid $30 for the 2004 Jingle Pals store display size musical plush.

Hopefully we are all allowed out soon and my work load picks up or my husband may very well disown me if I keep finding things I "need".

Elliott, did you see the post in the Facebook chatter group about the Mitford Snowman plush by Ruth Donikowski?

Nancy,

I did respond to Ruth's post on facebook. It was wonderful to hear how he came to life and from the source. I am glad I was able to meet here before she retired at a signing in Maryland a few years back.

I think I can speak for everyone here when I say we welcome any and all keepsake artists to peek around on this site here. I hope they get as much enjoyment out of our postings as we get from their creativity.

Dear Hallmark Artists:

Please visit this site and others where we ornament addicts congregate! We love connecting with you and hearing your stories about how you come to create the things that so many of us love!

You're always welcome to our conversations and topics! Please consider this an open invitation and pop in often!

I'm in no way an officer of this club but feel certain that I'm sharing the sentiments of many of our members by extending this invitation!

Officers please delete if I'm out of line. Thank you.

LOL! Ralph, this is the public forum. The Yuleloggers Club officers can't do anything here even if they wanted to. Just Sean.
