I'm sad to report another LONG Time Hallmark collector passed away. My friend Carol Grathwohl from Las Vegas. I first met Carol when I moved to Florida in 1995. Carol was a member of the old Tampa Bay Tree trimmers club that started the Flamingo Fling. Carol flew back to Tampa to attend some of the Flamingo Flings and attend the Tampa Bay Crown Club meetings.
She moved to Las Vegas when her husband retired. Carol was very active in the Desert Glitter Club there. We attended the biggest and best KC convention in 1998.
In 2013 we started sharing a room at the KC conventions. Many people got some great deals when she finally started selling her extra ornaments at room hopping . She missed the last two conventions .
Carol loved decorating . Her passion was Merry Miniatures. She only need 15 more to have them all.

I see on face book that Thomas Eden passed away in California.

Many knew him from the KC conventions.

He was also President of the Sacramento club.
They won an artist signing for this summer.

A sweet remembrance Susan.

May she rest in peace.

Susan,

sorry to hear about Carol's passing, I believe I meet her in 2013 while I room hopped. Thoughts and prayers for her family.

I also recall seeing Thomas at conventions, prayers for his family as well.

I had so much fun a few years back going to the Hallmark Event in Kansas, City, seeing my friends Susan and Carol in their room.
I did buy some MM's from Carol, then playing some games and other events with them.
We even had our picture taken that the 3 of us dressed up in hats, shirts and leis, the background was trees and snow that we stood by, they gave each of us a picture that looks like a postcard with the words on top "Greetings From KC".
If anyone knows what year this was let me know.
I have this picture on a shelf in the living room.
I think this was the last year that I could go and my husband was so sick, he even did think we could have gone to this last one but I knew he could not hold up and he did pass away the end of June 2019.

In 2015 Carol mailed the 2011 Father Christmas tabletop and she even had to go buy a big box to put Father Christmas in it's own Hallmark box.
She would not take any money from me.

Susan emailed me that Carol was on Hospice at home.
So the next day I did call Carol and told her how much fun I had at the Hallmark Even in KC with her.
I did tell her I would pray for her.
I wish I had said thank you for being my friend.

I then got an email from Susan saying she just found out Carol passed away.

I will miss Carol.

There is so much sadness around us all now. Somehow, may we find comfort somewhere.

I try to take some joy in remembrances of friends and better days and hope for a return to our normal world. I miss so many people and things. I do think of the many kindnesses I've received especially from my friends here. Please know that I appreciate them all.

Love to each of you!

I'm so very sorry to hear about the passing of Hallmark collectors Carol Grathwohl and Thomas Eden.

I do not believe I ever met Carol, but I do remember seeing Thomas at the KOC events in Kansas City, although I don't recall a conversation with him. I also remember Thomas posting quite a bit on Hallmark's Facebook page as well as a few times on Keepsake Community.

I do hope their family and friends find some comfort in their memories of those who passed ...
