I bought items from two different HMK stores today. One privately owned, the other a corporate store.
Both receipts show the same total number of points. At the first store I spent a net of $18.20. At the second store I spent $8.60. I don't understand why the points don't register automatically since both systems use the HMK computer system.

I've suspected for a long time that stores can either send transaction information immediately or it's done overnight. If there are two different ways, I would think that the corporate stores do it automatically and the independent stores have a choice. I would also believe that doing immediate feeds would cost more, and some stores may not feel that the additional expense is to their benefit.

I bought more Hallmark ornaments late last week and they haven't registered in the Gold Crown rewards yet.

I forgot to add that usually bonus points are often added in batch jobs, which are usually run at night or on a weekend when they're not doing a lot of other processing like orders.

When Keepsakes arranges for the bonus points process they probably specify how often that process is to be run, like when we had different point opportunities for the first weekend than we did for the next week. They might have run the batch job for the first weekend that Sunday night, then not run the other job until the following Sunday night.

If they run the batch job more often, they may be doing it while the computers have time so that it will finish sooner, leaving time for other things the next night when it won't take so long for the job to run.

Thanks Nancy, I'll check online in a couple of days.

My points finally showed up. Some yesterday and some today.
