While taking down tree and packing up my ornaments a few comments

The boxes this year were flimsy- not coated inside and thinner cardboard, hope this is a COVID issue and not go forward approach

Miss tin ornaments; loved the tin jack in box series and other tin items.

Nelloís laser gun always makes me laugh. I have to press the trigger three times to hear all the zaps.

Any thoughts on your end as you pack up Christmas 2021?

I'm sure the thinner cardboard is a cost savings thing. I don't think thin cardboard has anything to do with COVID.

The boxes this year are flimsy. Hope that Hallmark realizes that these boxes will not stand up year after year...they may be ready for repair by next year.

Agree that the tin ornaments are whimsical and fun. We need some more of them. They should have one each year.

Taking down Christmas????? The season just started last week. Still have a month of Christmas gatherings and enjoy all the decorating hard work.

Sad when people roll up Christmas once they open a few presents.

Remember the reason for the season.

I know. My sister gets her tree down either Christmas night or the next day.

I have not even started on my trees in the living room. I am taking down the rest of the house and reorganized all of the boxes because as we get older, we don't want to make 50 trips in the basement. So shelves in the extra bedroom work.

We took down and brought all of our outside decorations into our garages over the weekend. Weather was nice and it is supposed to be much colder this week. Now we have to put everything in its proper place in the garages. crazy

We have not taken down any of the decorations inside our house. We won't start on that for at least another week...maybe longer. grin

Usually try to do it today, on the 12th day of Christmas but I put everything up later than usual because I wasn't feeling the spirit much this year. Think I'll let it ride for another couple of weeks.

I have to admit I didn't notice any difference in the ornament boxes at all.

I also agree about the flimsiness of the 2021 boxes. I doubt HMK cares that the boxes won't stand up. Their only interest is that the box makes it to the store in one piece. It's all about the bottom line.

There were two types of boxes this year. The regular boxes which are white coated on the inside and feel thicker. The majority of the boxes were very thin unfinished cardboard that felt like recycled materials. Those boxes crushed and were damaged very easy. It didn't take much force at all to dent and create bends in them.

I didn't notice the difference while putting the ornaments on the trees, but I probably will when packing them away in February or March.

We are making progress on getting all of our Christmas decorations taken down and put away.

7 of our 9 trees are now packed away in their boxes. The remaining 2 trees still have ornaments and lights on them. Hope to get to them this weekend.

Almost all of our other decorations are packed in storage totes. We just need to take them out to the garage and put them in their proper places.

I think we will meet our goal of having everything put away by the end of January.....although just barely. grin

Due to the weather, we decided to take in the outside decorations, but the inside Christmas decor is still staying up. Looks like at least for another 3-4 weeks.
