I created YuleLog™ because I felt that other ornament collectors could benefit from a computer program that has helped me for some time now. My wife, Donna, and I have been collecting Hallmark Ornaments casually for over ten years. Every year we would buy two or three that appealed to us. Back in 1992, my brother-in-law, who runs a Hallmark store, told me that the Starship Enterprise ornament, that we had bought the year before, was now worth over $100 dollars. I was astounded! I suddenly became very interested and much more serious about collecting!

I soon wondered what the total value of our collection was. I purchased several different price guides and being a long time computer user, I created a database and typed in all of the information about our collection. Once again I was astounded by the increase in value that our humble collection had obtained.

I had already produced a commercial program for horse owners, with my partners at Forest Enterprises, so I realized that other computer users might benefit from my Ornament Collection program. I knew, however, that they would want more out of a program, than just being able to type in a list. As a 10 year Macintosh user, I knew that people like a program that does most of the work for them.

YuleLog™ does that and more. It doesn't matter if you are a Macintosh or a Windows user, and even if you have no computer experience, you'll be up and running in a matter of minutes.

YuleLog Software proudly licenses Ellen Gordon's “The Collection Connection” Price Guide for use with YuleLog™. Ellen Gordon uses over 100 secondary market price lists from all around the country, extracts the low and the high prices, and calculates the average price for each Hallmark Ornament and Merry Miniature. The lists are typically sent for and received in July and August of each year.

The Collection Connection Price Guide will be updated in the fall of each year. Each year’s price guide will include the low, average, and high secondary market prices for the Christmas ornaments through the prior year, the Easter ornaments through the current year, and the Merry Miniatures though Easter of the current year.

Simply scroll down a list of ornaments, or use the powerful search abilities, to quickly find a particular ornament, click a check box to select as many ornaments as you wish to add, and then click a button to add them to your personal collection.

Along with the yearly update each fall, a pre-premiere version will be made available, that will include all of the new ornaments to help you with your shopping.
